The Site

Local authority: Horsham District Council
Client: Saxon Weald Housing Association
Contractor: Geoffrey Osborne
Developer: Saxon Weald
Architect: Tooley and Foster
Cost: TBA
Number: 22

The site was originally two separate pieces of land. Part of the land belonged to Saxon Weald, whose Dingemans Court retirement development is next to the site. The remaining part belonged to West Sussex County Council and formed the edge of the local school’s boundary.

Neither piece of land had development potential when viewed separately, but by working in partnership, the site will secure 22 affordable homes for the area.

The Scheme

The scheme has been designed by architects Tooley and Foster Partnerships and is being built by Geoffrey Osborne Ltd.

Some of the properties will be of timber frame construction, while others will use a Structurally Insulated Panel System. All homes will meet eco-homes very good rating.

The mix comprises 14 houses and eight apartments. Ten are for rent, with 10 for part-buy part-rent and two for intermediate rent.

Completion date: Ongoing.
